Uno with Xbee shield communication problem.

Hello, first time poster long time lurker!

I have a Uno and the Sparkfun Xbee shield.

When I attach any of the xbee modules to the little explorer board and start up X-CTU all is good.

If I attach the module to the shield and then start X-CTU, it has the Uno listed in the port window and that matches correct with the computers port listings, but it will never successfully communicate with module.

Just fyi. the switch is set to UART and the little green DI05 led is flashing repeatedly.

Am I missing something or are these not plug and play?

Just FYI I took the ATMEGA chip off the Uno board.

Can’t X-CTU talk directly to the XBee when its on the Uno board?
