Using Olimex MSP430-JTAG-ISO

Hi everybody,

Today I have received one of the Olimex MSP430-JTAG-ISO programmers and

I’m wondering is there somebody who managed it to work with

msp430-gdbproxy on Win32 platform. It is a fine programmer but I’m

experiencing difficulties making it work with the mspgcc toolchain. I

presume that the DLLs from the Olimex site are intended to replace

original ones in the bin directory, but carefully looking at them I have

found that they have a less entry points than originals. My mspgcc is

stamped with:

Build date: 20060502

Binutils version: 060404 (with patches)

GCC version: 3.2.3 (with patches)

GDB version: 6.0 (with patches)

Some ideas?

Do not hold your breath and wait for any answer from OLIMAX.

Or, maybe something like this:

OLIMEX:
I just pointed out something based on our customer feedback

I’m sure that if installed properly every software will behave as needed, you just have no idea what some peoples are doing

I do remember few years ago we had call that our PIC programmer doesn’t work, after asking any possible questions like cables, power supplies etc etc I just asked for the code the customer wanted to burn in the PIC so we can try to reproduce his problem in our lab - he sent me blinking LED code on HTML web page, and he was trying to program the HTML web page in the PIC and wondered why the LED doesn’t blinks

many of our customers are beginners and when they write “your board doesn’t work with XYZ software” I’m prepared to expect everything

Best regards

Tsvetan

I presume that the DLLs from the Olimex site are intended to replace original ones in the bin directory

I’d try the TI DLLs just to see if they work. Olimex may be distributing older versions of them.
