Hi, I got the AVR STK Serial Port Dongle Programmer (SKU#: AVR-PG1 ) and am trying to use a USB to Serial programmer to program an Atmega128 (the Mavric IIB from BDmicro).
In short, I can’t get it to work. I see explicit warnings for the PIC programmers, but none for the AVR.
BDMicro says they’ve used USB to serial before for that board. I’ve used USB to serial to program an Atmega8, but it wasn’t with the Sparkfun programmer. I’ve tried 2 different USB to Serial devices, one of them that BDMicro has used for the board, the other I’ve programmed with the Atmega8.
Has anyone else had problems, solutions, with this programmer?
