The Ipod touch does not have a vibrating alarm, which is enough of a reason to keep me from buying one. Has anybody built a workaround for this, or can anyone suggest a “clean” workaround for this?
The button vibrating motors that sparkfun sells look promising, but I don’t know if I could connect one to the headphone port and use a sound to power it, for example. I think they need at least a couple of volts to work, How much voltage would there be from a continuous tone through the headphone port?
I would be very grateful if anyone on this forum could help me out with this. I also have to add that I’m not a programmer so anything that doesn’t involve much more than plugging in something to something would be preferable.
As a totally different option to the above, can anyone suggest a different way to get my outlook (or google or yahoo) appointments from my computer into something I can carry with me that will alert me by vibrating (so the whole room doesn’t have to hear when I’m being alerted)? I thought of programs that would send a message to my cell phone which I can set to vibrate, but we have lousy cell phone access in my building. We do have wireless internet.
Thanks. Jeff
