Watering irrigation system

Hey! I´m currently working on a project using an Arduino mega to control the watering in my garden. This far the program can support 10 soil moisture sensors to water 10 different spots in the garden or 10 pots. I´m using a rotary encoder to set read time, watering time and every individual sensor trigger level, so that I can adjust it without connecting my computer to it. However while reading up on some topics surrounding this project I stumbled upon relative humidity. It seems that reading the relative humidity around the plants can help me to use the water more efficient and make the plants more productive. However, since English is not my native language and spending hours reading scientific papers got the best of me I thought I would ask here first.

I have a few ideas on how to improve the humidity around the plants during the watering time, like misting the area being watered. All ideas are welcomed tho!

This topic seems rather interesting and I wonder if anyone here has done a project similar to this and has any knowledge around it? All inputs are welcome and it doesn’t have to do with relative humidity, any other aspects to keep in mind is welcome as this project will run for as long as needed as its my way of learning new stuff  . To be more specific all ideas surrounding watering, greenhouse control etc are more then welcomed.

I hope I posted this in the right forum thread, otherwise I apologize in advance.
