Web-Connected Continuously Measuring Weighing Machine

Hi Guys,

I am trying to make a weighing machine that will have a continuos load on top it.

I want to access this weight information on a website or an app.

The load I want to measure will be in the range of 0-10kg.

Inaccuracy of upto 5% is alright.

Which is the easiest and cheapest (under $15) way to make this system?

Other question:

  1. Sensor choice?

  2. Other electronics choice - amplifier, microcontroller, wi-fi chip etc? - any recommendations?

Loooking forward to some good suggestions!

Thanks!

under $15

Not likely to happen. Have you researched any thing about your project?

It’s quite possible to do this for under $15. As long as you place absolutely no value on your time and you can get a free computer.

An Arduino, a potentiometer and a spring will make a computer-readable scale ( F = kx, remember?) that can be calibrated very accurately if you take the time to do it. You can buy Arduino clones wholesale for $2 each. In fact, I could come up with cheaper ways to do it, but at some point you have to ask what the point is.

What are you trying to do that absolutely must be done for under $15? I’ll happily build it for you for $1,500.00

Load cell(s) from Asia.

OpAmp.

Feed to microprocessor’s ADC.

You missed the web connected part…

The whole thing is easy to do, for $15 @ qty one? Not so much.
