which rework nozzles?

I have found over 55 rework nozzles at around £10 each!! To buy them all is prohibitively expensive (i.e. £550+ !!).

I would therefore like to know which are the most commonly used nozzles for PC motherboards?

Perhaps you know of somewhere that sells them in sets that include all popular sizes and thus keep the price down!

Most grateful to anyone with links to follow…

Working on a low budget.

I’d have thought the mid-sized nozzle that comes with the 852A+ would have been enough. Or one of the larger nozzles if you’re working on bigger chips.

But PC motherboards? I’m just wondering what you’re planning to do here, PC motherboard parts aren’t exactly easy to come by… unless you were just planning to reflow the solder on the chips or something.

Hi philpem,

thanx for the reply!

Well I know the parts for mainboards are difficult to come by, but as well as communicating with the IC manufactures directly I also ‘take-in’ broken and faulty PC towers and remove all the good parts, or should I say remove the broken components and when I get another one or two in I can usually make one good mainboard from two or three dead ones. Think of it like a car dismantlers yard from which they can take parts off wrecks before they are crushed and recycled.

hope that solves the mystery?

cheers!
