Just tried making a post and took me ages to get it to accept as it kept saying it had banned words in. I pinned it down to the word sh–t. You know, in the highly common word used in electronics when referring to that ever important little document we read to learn about a product? Its not data that is banned, nor the combination, its the word sheeet itself… spelt correctly of course but that would block this post lol. How strange.
You mean I can’t type “datasheet”?

Yes that is correct. I cannot also type a LOT more words I have had to sensor my own posts today about 10 times on completely daft words! I never had this problem with my last account which got accidentally banned and and still waiting for the IT at SF to unblock it (9 days and counting… come on)

It must be new registration settings as my old account (which I am STILL waiting to be fixed… hello anyone there at SF?) didn’t have this issue.
I’ve only made about 1 post this week where I haven’t had to edit my original post 10 times to get it to accept! How frustrating.
It accepted the rude word that sounds like sheet when I included it in this reply. I removed it, of course.

Okay - I just created a new account to test this. Sure enough, “data sheet” was not allowed. I got the following message (the last line is the message that I tried to preview):

If you don’t want this to happen in the future go visit the groups page and subscribe to the ‘Bypass words’ group
I just created this new account to test if data sheet will not be accepted.
Have you tried to join the “Bypass words” group?
Yep joined it 4 days ago but its still pending… the same as my blocked account. I think the IT guys need to accept it, and I get the odd feeling they aren’t really that active about the forum as its over a week to unblock my account they blocked by accident in the first place, and now 4 days for this account since I joined the bypass group!

According to his post on the spam thread, phalanx did say that he is on a business trip with no internet access this week. That may have something to do with the delay. Try sending a PM to Microcentillion.

I’m back now!
Even though the error messages say to ask a moderator to fix the problem, I don’t have any control over user accounts. I can only edit, delete, and move posts. Microcentillion is the new Administrator of the forum and can fix user account issues. He has been good about responding to my PMs.
