Hello,
Can anyone share experience on using WiFly firmware 2.45?
I’m using RN-171 module which had originally WiFly EZX 2.38 (the “Ad hoc” version) and the WiFly EZX 2.45 (the “Soft AP” version) in the memory. Now, 2.45 seems, compared to 2.38, quite unstable: the client (Windows or iOS) gets disconnected randomly after about 5 minutes of work, sometimes more, sometimes less. It doesn’t allow any more clients afterwards (Cannot connect to WiFi network), although WiFi is visible. A reboot sent from a device connected via UART reboots the RN-171 module and then another client can get connected. Very frustrating!
I found the test-WiFly_EZX-2.50.img version on the Roving FTP and it seems to be much more stable in this regard, although I haven’t tested everything yet. The only other thing that I’ve noticed is that terminal commands, when sent from Windows / PuTTy client, get repeated back and it’s impossible to configure it that way, although I can do it through UART. But it might be something simple like the return/enter symbol.
