Well nice idea anyway…
The Sparkfun site hosts a forum, why not a wiki? Projects of note could be posted on Wikipedia (like the TV-B-Gone from Adafruit) which describe the project when external links to the Wiki.
Perhaps the information (I didn’t get to see the entry before it was removed) can be edited to make it suitable for a WikiPedia entry. Regardless, the history should be captured somewhere. Because years from now we’ll be talking about the legend of Sparkfun and how it unfolded. Remember the Port-O-Rotary? I was there, man.
