He edited the thread to conceal the fact that he did the deed, but not before several members took notice. Don’t know what you can do, but have at him and make it painful!
Just to be clear, this action was not known to Parallax nor supported by them.
Who made the page in the first place? (sparkfun or someone else)
What did the parralax forum member DO to get the page deleted?
What implications has the parallax forum member had on him for this?
I’m assuming that SparkFun created the page, but I never got a chance to see it. The member over at Parallax either flagged the page as SPAM or is, in fact, an administrator at Wikipedia. Not sure. There were no implications. What could they do? It was done to a company not affiliated with Parallax and he didn’t violate any rules or law.
Some of the confusion may have been based around the erroneous name for the entry. The original was under the name:
Spark Fun Electronics
The new (correct) one is under the name:
SparkFun Electronics
Notice the lack of a space between Spark and Fun. This may seem like a trivial thing, but it’s the name of the company, and some time ago when we decided which one was to be correct we spent a lot of time removing single spaces. The original wiki article was created with the wrong name, so we had to start over.
Either way that this guy was involved, it’s no big deal, because that page needed to be nuked. Let’s just hope the current one stays around for a while (and gets some additions from you guys!)
