I find that [McMaster-Carr has pretty good prices if you need the same thing every time and you need to know exactly what you’re buying. For one-offs, any online surplus store: All Electronics, BG Micro, MPJA, etc. will do.
For solid wire, Home Depot’s prices are not bad.](McMaster-Carr)
