Wired programming Sparkfun Arduino fio - Remove xbee?

Hello!

Per the Arduino fio programming page, it indicates that in addition to wireless programming, the fio can be programmed via a FTDI adapter or an external programmer.

My question is, if an xbee is installed, would it need to be removed each time you use the FTDI adapter, since it uses the same RX / TX pins as the xbee?

Thanks.

Response from Shigeru Kobayashi:

Regarding your question, unfortunately yes. You have to remove a XBee modem from a Fio board while uploading using a wired connection. I just updated to add a note to the web page.

I hope that I’ll be able to find an alternative solution for the next revision.
