Wireless Controller

Hi All

I am researching the feasability of building a wireless arcade controller. Many of the current wireless controllers use hacked keyboards to accomplish the task (I am not a fan of this method).

I came across http://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/337 which shows how to emulate a keyboard through a ProMicro.

Is it possible to combine the ProMicro (to produce 20 different key strokes) and BlueSMiRF HID to send those keystrokes to bluetooth enabled PC?

Cheers

Are you making a controller from scratch or do you have a hardwired controller and wish to make it wireless?

Hi Joeisi

I would be making it from scratch.

I looked into using an Arduino BT but I cannot seem to find a stockist and the Blue Tooth is not suitable for HID emulation. Which leaves back at the

Blue SMiRF HID option. I have a Arduino Mega 2560 R2 which a received a while back, so I am thinking of using that in conjunction with the Blue SMiRF HID instead of the ProMicro.

I will order the Blue SMiRF HID over the next few days and have a play and see what comes of it.

Cheers

Shaun
