Wireless switch/light project - help needed

Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I’m fairly new to all this, so while I understand the language and I’m confident in assembling the build, I’m not sure the components that might be needed. So I’m just kind of looking for help with a circuit diagram and/or parts list.

I’m looking to build a project where I can have a switch on my desk that can wirelessly turn on a light box down the hall (think an exit sign above a door). All would be battery-powered, and while the switch and the light would be relatively close (10-15ft), I can’t guarantee line-of-sight, so I think RF would be the best choice, right?

But I just have no idea how to make that happen! Any thoughts? Thanks for any input.

Here’s something to read:

Next to the advice from brow, I would make it as easy as you can especially you are fairly new to this. I would look at 433Mhz transmitter and receiver,e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000491849284.html but there are MANY others. Battery operated, small.

Thank you both! Looking into both links.
