Wireless USB Game Controller

Hey all,

This post is going to be a bit general. Basically I’ve done nothing with wireless development and I’m not really sure where to start with this, even though it sounds (to me) like a pretty cut-and-dry proposition…

Basically, I’ve got an old Super Famicom controller that I’ve used a [SNES RetroKit on. It basically handles the SNES controller protocol with an IC, converts it to a standard gamepad protocol, and feeds the info into your standard USB leads (5V,GND,D+,D-).

What I’m looking to do is further modify this by making it wireless- that is, using a battery to supply the 5V/GND lines for the USB connectors, and transmitting/receiving the D+/D- lines wirelessly to a dongle that would plug into my computer and do the inverse. I’ve looked around Sparkfun’s products and a few other sites and I just can’t find the info on how to accomplish this; partly because I’m naive to wireless comms, and partly because I’m naive to USB comms as well.

tl;dr - what’s a good starting place for transmitting/receiving USB comms wirelessly between a computer and external device?](http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?products_id=44)
