Wireless

How would I get two Arduinos to communicate wireless. Also what would the range be?

You can use any number of radio modules. Popular ones include the 433 MHz TX/RX modules, Bluetooth, NRF24L01, Wixel and Xbee. Range from 3 meters to 1 km.

Google “arduino wireless communication” for 500,000 hits.

Thank you for your reply

Do some homework on:

Radio Frequency (RF) attenuation in free-space line of sight conditions. Inverse square law. Frequency dependent.

Read about transmitter power versus receiver sensitivity.

Study up on the unlicensed RF bands in your locale (e.g., ISM) - and sub-GHz versus 2.4GHz and others.

Read about attenuation from obstructions in the path.

And the benefit of directional antennas.

This done, take a stab at “RF Link Budgets”.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand that at all, I'm very new to this?

What part are you not understanding?

“Do some homework …”?

“Read about …”?

“Study up on …”?

“Read about …”?

The technical details, I have no idea what they mean?

Are you hoping that forum members will write an introductory article for you on wireless communications?

Again, do some reading. Google “arduino wireless communication” for 500,000 hits.

Surely, somewhere in the top 50 or so, will be some useful and understandable material.

I was just hoping for it to be explained, and maybe a product link offered? Is this a beginner forum or not?

It has been explained hundreds of times. Even in this forum. Use the search box on the top of this page. This is a beginner forum for people that want to learn. Learning is reading and research in the beginning.

If you were to come here with specific questions about a problem or a product you fully didn’t understand, we would be more than happy to help. What you are asking would take days, if not weeks to explain and hundreds of pages of text to type.

Okay, sorry, I didn't realise.
