About 2 months ago I purchased 2 nRF24L01+ break out boards (WRL-00691). I was having trouble getting them to work so I started probing the circuit and checking voltages. I notice that the on board regulator appeared to be generating more than the 3.3V the schematic shows. slowly increasing the voltage it peaked at 5V. I took a picture of the regulator and the code on the IC is KB50 a google search resulted in the following data sheet http://www.micrel.com/_PDF/mic5205.pdf. The table on page 2 shows that kb50 is a 5V regulator.
I’ve contacted tech support over a month ago and all I got was a “thanks we will look into it” I’m hoping by posting this here it will get the appropriate attention to make a great part even better.
attached is the photo I took of the regulator. It is the 5 pin IC in the lower left.
