So I powered on the module and waited a while and I’m not getting any pps activity. I tried putting the module right by the window as well. Sky is clear not a cloud. I also tried connecting the wake pin to vcc that didn’t make a difference.
Do I have to connect i2c and do a startup routine to get pps? I don’t actually need GPS data but just need pps.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Maybe an owner could chime in and see if they get pps out without i2c startup routine?
Maybe I got a bum module.
How long did you wait? It can take up to 20-30 minutes of clear sky view to receive all of the ephemeris data needed for normal operation. Many people expect it to work instantaneously like a cellphone, and are not aware that a cell phone downloads the ephemeris data from the cell network.
Thank you for the advice!
I had do leave it outside on a clear day, AND tie the wake pin to vcc. After about 20 minutes the pps LED started blinking!
Backup battery seems to be working as well - pps starts blinking after a few seconds after power up!
Thanks again!
