Xbee 3 module pin paring

Hello:

I have 2 Xbee 3 modules. All indications is that they are talking to each other and when I change the state on the input of DIO4 for unit A and monitor the state of DIO4 on unit B, I get the blue led but no change in the output for unit B on DIO4.

I have gone thru XCTU’s “Configure the XBee modules” with no joy.

Thanks for reaching out to us on this.

It might be unwelcome, but it might be re-flash your boards, and then verify the communication test https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/xb … ation-test

Hope this helps, and happy sparking!

Try using the older 802.15.4 firmware, some of those guides won’t work without it.

There are 3 ‘function sets’ to XB3-24 firmware.

Digi xBee3 802.15.4 TH ver 200C, Digi xBee3 DigiMesh 2.4 TH ver 300B, and Digi XBee Zigbee 3.0 TH ver 100B.

I loaded Digi xBee3 Zigbee 3.0 TH, ver 100B.

My goal is to just get the 2 modules to ‘pin pare’ on DIO4.

Maybe I should load 802.15.4 TH.

I am using part numbers WRL-15126 "XBee 3 module PCB Ant’.

My order number was 3173193.

Yes. load both modules with the 802.15.4.

Thank you. I did this, but still no joy on pin paring. Every thing appears to work, but monitoring out put on DIO4 with it set for output hi. No changes. I can change the state of this pin with XCTU.

Would it be possible for someone at Spark Fun to verify that I am the only one experiencing this?

Would be possible for someone who has done this, to publish their XCTU settings?

It’s been years since I’ve tried it and I was using the original series 1 XBee’s to do it but this tutorial worked for me back in the day.

You definitely need to load the 802.15.4 firmware on a XBee 3 to consider this, that should make your XBee 3 emulate the XBee series 1 the tutorial was written for.

Thank you. I got them to do pin paring. I have another problem with the Xbee USB adapter. I will post.
