XBee 3 Pro Module come flashed with 802.15.4?

I’m wondering if the xbee 3 pro module comes pre-flashed and if so with 802.15.4?

Thanks

I believe that 802.15.4 is the old XBee 1 firmware, these wouldn’t have that on them from the factory but you could flash it yourself. The amazon board would probably work for flashing firmware, but sparkfun’s USB explorer would definitely work.

The XBee 3 modules come with Zigbee firmware. Use the XCTU utility to install the 802.15.4 firmware. I use the (currently backordered) [SF USB Explorer for this and I’m sure the [USB mini version would work the same.

The serial Explorer would work, too, but it does need a power supply:

Hello, there’s no documentation on Sparkfun indicating the USB explorers work for the series 3 devices. The Xbee 3 kit (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15936) comes with the mini-B interface so it seems that’s the best evidence.

So you can confirm the dongle (11697) and likely the mini-B and serial interface boards work with the Xbee Pro 3 series?

It would be helpful to update the various pages:

serial device: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13225

I’ve used the USB and Serial Explorers with XBee3 modems and I’m confident the Mini-B would work as well.

Same here, haven’t had any issues at all.
