XTend and X-CTU

I have recently purchased two XTend modems for use in a school project. However, I cannot get them to work. When clicking “Test / Query” in X-CTU it responds “Communication with modem. OK.” however does not include the name and version of the modem/firmware. When reading the parameters in the “Modem Configuration” tab it responds “Getting modem type…OK. Programming modem…Lost connection with modem. Write Parameters…Failed.”

I do not have the development board or any other boards, just a plain breakout board, so I do not have any config switches or anything else similar. I do have access to the pins on the modem.

Also when attempting to enter command mode by entering “+++” it gives no response.

If you send +++ and no CR/LF, nothing more, and do so with the matching baud rate, and with the correct wiring, the result, like an old modem, would be “OK” and CR/LF.

If not, look into the two criteria, above.

Try both units.
