I just today (July 19th) received an order I placed on June 13th. Is this normal? I thought you folks said that this service was so popular that 10 days was the longest period to wait to be sent out?
We quote 19 days from place to ship - see the batchpcb faq. However, recently a panel got lost by our fab, and we had to have it redone. Your order was on that panel, along with one from bigglez.
Thanks for the reply. Just a suggestion, if in the future a board order is lost/dropped a quick email would go a long way in heading off any upset customers.
I agree. I definitely understand that BatchPCB isn’t minting money, but if an ebay seller can message me to let me know the status of my order, maybe an honest company can too. At some point someone pushes the button to send the panels out. They could push another button to send emails to everyone whose order is on the panel.
I really appreciate the service, and I hope that SFE doesn’t drop the idea. I also hope it doesn’t generate a negative name for itself before it can get off the ground because of a simple lack of communication.
This is more of an issue because the order process spans weeks to begin with, and people know to be patient. So what you get in the end is people irritated after a month and a half when something goes wrong.

David et al.,
Just a quick note to let everyone know my MAX7921 Eval PCB arrived a few minutes ago. Everything looks good (not that any PCB is perfect…), although I can’t stop what I’m doing this weekend to assemble and test it (much as I want to!).
So, the design was sent to BatchPCB on 06-21, and that makes it 30 calendar days (22biz days).
I see there’s a few extra PCBs of the same design. Hmm… I wonder if Maxim will part with a few more MAX7219 SOIC samples? I hate to see these go unused, PM me if anyone is interested.
