3D Expert will trade out 3D design help for Simple EE and Software help

Hi there. I am a recently retired Industrial Designer with a specialty in precise 3D modeling. I have had the chance to design hundreds of very cool products along the way, many of which incorporated some type of electronics and I was always in awe of the great EEs I worked with on those assignments. In my retirement, I am working on a personal project where I need some very simple electronics and software design help. I am proposing to trade my 3D design skills to create a custom 3D part/assembly design for your project in return for my needed EE/software assistance.

For someone with those skills and interests, I expect this would be a relatively simple project (illuminating 15 LEDs in a programmable pattern), but not something that I want to learn how to do at this point in my life.

So, if someone has an interest in creating the electronics design and doing the programming, I’d be thrilled to work with you and provide you similar work in the 3D CAD realm either now or at some point in the future. You can PM me (if that is even possible here), or I can provide my email address to privately discuss this further. With your design in hand, I am handy enough with soldering and cabling that I can probably physically implement a design, so that likely wouldn’t be required from you.

Project summary:

1. Scale model of a small building (approx 3.8" x 4.8" x 3.3”H) with 15 rooms I’d like to illuminate with white LEDs in a random or controlled pattern of on, then off, then on again, etc. I have already built one version with continuous lighting but would like to build a rev02 version (3D printed SLA) with lighting that illuminates various rooms at various times.

2. First version used a USB-C female jack like this or this to bring in 5 VDC from a USB-A wall wart. Same plan here unless a better solution is proposed.

3. Warm white LEDs. I used discrete LEDs but my current thinking uses smart 5050 RGBW SMDs which would be hand soldered to cables and glued into the “ceiling” of each room.

I am attaching an animation I created showing kind of what I am looking for.

I look forward to your feedback. Thank you.
