7.1 surround with one trigger from Tsunami, how to do that?

Hi, in the info page of the Tsunami it states: The mono version includes the ability to trigger up to 8 mono tracks routed to sequential outputs for playing stereo pairs (2 voices), 5.1 surround (6 voices) or 7.1 surround (8 voices) using a single trigger.

For an art project I need mono audio to come from all the 8 outputs triggered by 1 simple trigger. From then on it should loop until I stop it. It should be easy but I can’t figure it out.

With the configurator (The v 2.0 Beta, because it’s the only one that has the synced set option) these are my settings:

#TSUM

#TRIG 01, 98, 0, 0, 14, 1, 16

I set all my audio to mono with audacity, but the only tracks I hear are track 1 and 15 and only when I trigger these triggers (1 or 15).

A little help here is enormously appreciated! Thanks!

Those can be tricky to get going…and generally our best bet is to refer ya back to robertsonic’s tutorial on their page…but it looks like we might need to confirm that you are using the MONO v1.11 hex files https://robertsonics.com/resources/tsun … _v111m.zip within the configurator (the page mentioned: “Synced Set” is available only when running Tsunami’s mono firmware version, and will start up to 8 tracks, specified in the track range fields, routing the “Low” track to the specified output and subsequent tracks to the next sequential outputs; The tracks will start and stay sample-locked, enabling you to use one trigger to play stereo or even 5.1 or 7.1 surround content.)

Note: If you open an init file that was made with the Tsunami Configuration Utility, the new app will treat it as a WAV Trigger file. You’ll have to start from scratch to create new Tsunami init files (mono or stereo.)

So, please ensure use of the MONO v1.11 and that you have created the init files within the 2.x configurator using them AFTER verifying, and see if that gets it going

TS-Russell, thank you so much for your rapid answer!

The key was the right firmware. I did not use the latest firmware (MONO v1.11 hex file) because on the download page on the Robertsonics site it says it is for testing and I thought I should use the stable firmware (V1.00). But obviously the latest firmware does the job (Maybe it should be stated in the User Guide that this is the way to get the 5.1 or 7.1 or just 8 mono audiofiles the play when triggered with one trigger).

Furthermore I used the 2.x configurator started with a whole new configuration. It is essential to set the product to: Tsunami Mono!!

Then I choose trigger 1, contact closure, type : edge and function: Synced set (When you choose synced set the Track Range automatically changes from 1 to 8 (Off course you can change that))

Lastly after using Audacity I stripped all Metadata from my mono audiofles with https://www.markvapps.com/tagstripper (OSX only)

So maybe this is helpful for other users. Thanks again TS-Russell!
