I am new to GPS. I am a garlic farmer. I am trying to set up a GPS guidance system for one of my pieces of equipment. I found the Agopengps software to use for the guidance with a tablet. I am unsure what I need for hardware to get the system to work. I have read about rtk antennae and not sure which one I should use. I did set up an account with WISCORS to get correction data. Do I need to setup a base station or can I get the correction data through my phone and hot spot them to my laptop? What antenna and other hardware do I need to get this to work? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
The parts list depends on how far away the correction source is from you…is it’s over 10km we recommend a base + rover setup
But, to answer:
GPS board https://www.sparkfun.com/products/16481
Adapter https://www.sparkfun.com/products/21739
Antenna https://www.sparkfun.com/products/21801
Then we have a guide here https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/gp … okup-guide to get started; you would just use the WISCORS as the correction source
We also have https://www.sparkfun.com/products/17370 which is a kit that would work similarly https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sp … -guide/all (it also has a supplemental guide https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … ash-course)
I did find the closest wiscors tower is 16 km away. If that is the case will I need to stop a base station or should I try this set up first? If I do try these parts first, can I use them if I do need to setup a base station?

16km is likely close enough for an RTK Fix with a few centimeters (2-3cm) of accuracy, so no, I don’t think you will need a base station.
The list Russell recommended is a good place to start. Depending on your equipment, you may want a longer cable: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/21740 and possibly a mag mount: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/21257
