This is the message I’m getting via the serial port on my Artemis Redboard Plus. The LED also blinks at 1pps. I am unable to upload the bootloader or any sketch to the board. I also have a Redboard ‘standard’ (not Plus). It functions nominally after I unplug the Plus, and plug the ‘standard’ Redboard in (USB, Comm6), i.e., same settings, serial port, etc.

My first question is, is this message something that Sparkfun loads on these boards? I bought the board from Amazon. It was delivered in a zip bag (unsealed).

Thanks for any insights.

So, this is a characteristic of this board type (ARb Plus). At least I now have two that behave the same way. I’m using the Arduino IDE (1.8.x). Is the board type the same for the Artemis Redboard and the Artemis Redboard Plus?

soliloquy, cont’d:

Ok, so the Plus is really an ‘Uno’ (in terms of the Arduino IDE). Cool. (Just needed to read a bit closer). Then…the next problem is uncovered. (Won’t compile the LedControl sketch under the Uno persona…) LOL.

I believe that’s the message from the bootloader; please double-check what board you are using and ensure you have the correct board definition and COM port selected in the IDE

(We don’t make an Artemis Redboard Plus, but we make basically every other combo of those 3 names)
