Ordered my RedBoard Artemis and RedBoard Artemis Nano today and noticed that the Board Manager entries within “SparkFun Apollo3 Boards” still say “BlackBoard.” Is it okay to use version 1.0.7 with the RedBoard variants (just the FCC cert changed, right?) or do we need to wait for a successor version?
Hi David,
You should be just fine selecting the “BlackBoard” version of the Artemis board you have. There are no significant functional differences between the SparkX and Reds version of these boards. I assume our engineering team is working on updates to all of that for the full release and eventually we’ll have a version update for those board definitions but as of now, you should be just fine selecting the “BlackBoard” option. You can keep an eye on the repository for our Arduino boards [here or you can just check the Boards Manager tool in Arduino for an update to the SparkFun Boards package.](GitHub - sparkfun/Arduino_Boards: Board definitions for SparkFun-manufactured AVR, ARM, and ESP-based Arduino boards.)
Thanks… they just showed up! Should be fun
