Automatically Connecting to RN-42 Bluetooth module

Hi,

Is there a way to automatically connect to the RN-42 Bluetooth Module every time that it gets powered up? I only want my Bluetooth module turned on for transmission, since I only need to transmit for 30ms for every 4s. So, when I am ready for a transmission I want to turn on the Bluetooth module, transmit the data and then turn it off again.
