Hi,
I bought my JTAG interface sometime back. I haven’t used it for a while, and I’m planning to run the lastest AVRStudio, so I guess it may need firmware upgrade.
I have seen post regarding the procedure to enable bootloader etc, but also notice mention of a simpler procedure using a possible Upgrade.exe. Did you ever write this? What is the lastest procedure?

So are you saying is it no longer necessary to use another programmer to update older jtag units?
Avr studio will update the unit regardless of the age?

p.s. Are you aware of the posts in the ‘start here’ section?
All JTAGs shipped after January of '04 do not need an external programmer to do a firmware update. Olimex found this error and fixed it out the Xmas season.
