Best way to add Sound and light effects to model

I recently started getting into making models again, and I wanted to add light effects and sounds to the models. I am new to Arduino as well and my struggle is there is so many options what would do what I need in a small form factor. My current model is a Cylon rader model from the newer battlestart galactica series, and I am trying to do the following:

  1. The led eye moving back and forth (Found on amazon, and that is square away with an outbound 5v).

  2. I want to be able to control the engine lights (A couple of addressable LED’s) and play an audio engine sound at the same time.

  3. I wan to be able to play audio clips and corresponding lights (Say the laser’s firing or engines going to lightspeed). I would like to do this with an analog button that will play 1 of multiple possible sequences at random, or if it is easier have 1 analog button trigger a light/sound sequence.

So, were I am stuck is what board can I use that is a small form factor to fit in model’s easily, and play audio (Do I need a separate shield?) Do you have recommendations for small speakers I can also fit in the model to play the audio.

Hello dperezjr,

Without exact size restrictions, I would suggest you look into our [Qwiic MP3 Trigger and [Qwiic Micro - SAMD21 microcontroller. This might be a good start for your project.](SparkFun Qwiic Micro - SAMD21 Development Board - DEV-15423 - SparkFun Electronics)](SparkFun Qwiic MP3 Trigger - DEV-15165 - SparkFun Electronics)
