I’m looking over a couple of tutorials and I would like to ask a couple
of confirmatory questions before I get started.
Do you need anything more than power on the Bluetooth module
to pair it up with your computer’s Bluetooth?
Y/N?
On the module,
Once paired up, if you send serial characters to the TX PIN,
do these somehow find their way to your terminal program?
Or do you need to do more on the terminal program, such as
selecting a serial port corresponding to the computer’s Bluetooth?
Thanks.
I’m using a Mac with coolterm.

OK, after pumping 5v into my 3.3v bluetooth module, I finally figured out
that this wasn’t ever going to work. I used a 10K and a 22K resistor to make
a voltage divider that was pretty close to 3.3v.
I thought this would damage the bluetooth module, but it didn’t.
I’m using coolterm on the mac to receive the bluetooth broadcast. And the
bluetooth module is the BTM-182 connected to the arduino uno.
On coolterm I tried sending +++ to try to get the BTM-182 into command mode,
but so far nothing is happening.
I’m using a coolterm feature that sends a string of +++, and I’ve tried typing individual
plus signs too.
Can anyone save me a day or two, and provide a hint as to what I need to do
to get to the command mode promised land?
Thanks.
I’m in echo mode on coolterm, is this it?
