Board Unresponsive to Mercury API Commands

Hi Guys

I recently purchased the Simultaneous RFID Reader M7E Hecto (WRL-24738) and am having an issue where the board is completely unresponsive to Mercury API commands.

Setup:

  • Mac M-series laptop, macOS latest

  • WCH CH34x driver installed and confirmed working

  • Board detected on /dev/cu.wchusbserial110

  • Red PWR LED is lit

  • UART switch set to USB position

Issue: The board shows up on the serial port correctly but returns zero bytes to any Mercury API command including the version request (0xFF 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x04 0x09) at all baud rates tested (9600, 38400, 57600, 115200).

The RF resistor was professionally moved to the external antenna position using proper equipment to connect the U.FL port for use with a Times-7 ground mat antenna.

Zero bytes received at any baud rate. Board appears powered but M7E module is completely unresponsive.

Does the M7E work on Windows with the Universal Reader Assistant (URA) ? At least we know it is not the M7E.
