New and confused here. Regarding the Breakout Board for FT232RL; the title says USB to serial, but the description states USB to UART. There is a difference right? USB to serial will require a MAX233 while USB to UART can connect directly to the TX RX of a micro processor? Also this part is powered via the 5v USB and the 3v is just a power out, correct?

While you see the Breakout board, the best approach would be to study the Datasheet of FTDI’s FT232Rl
most of your confusions/clouds would be cleared off.
