Can Converter "OBD-II UART" and "Can-Bus shield" work at 24 Volts?

Hi there! I hererby write to ask you some questions regarding some of your products, namely :

Converter OBD-II UART

Can-Bus shield

First of all, I would like to say that we are going to use these elements to collect data from the OBD port of heavy-duty trucks.

Due to this application, we require to have full compatibility of these two with 24 V. Are they compatible?

Secondly, if these are working at 24 V, do they support SAE J1939?

Thanks in advance!!

Hello, and thanks for posting!

Sadly, neither the OBD-II UART or CAN-Bus Shield are setup to work on a 24 volt system and they will only work on a 12 volt vehicle.

Thanks Chris for your quick answer. Can you suggest me another device (if exist) that works at 24 volt ,please?

Hi R_M.

I’m afraid we don’t carry any 24 volt OBD-II boards and I’m exactly sure where to get one. Just be sure that whatever you get will work on a 24 volt system. OBD-II scanners designed only for 12 volts may not work or might be damaged when connected to a 24 volt vehicle.
