Can I substitute different Panasonic PIR snsor?

Hello,

The SparkFun Qwiic PIR - 1uA (EKMB1107112) [ SEN-17375] uses the Panasonic EKMB1107112 PIR sensor. My application would be better served with the Panasonic AMN33111, which has a much narrower “spot” detection angle. The base diameter of the two sensors are nearly identical; the AMN33111 can fit onto the SEN-17375 circuit board. The pinout dimensions of the two sensors is identical.

Q: Can I simply remove the EKMB1107112 from the circuit board and substitute a AMN33111 sensor?

If the pinout and footprint match, probably?

You’d have to give it a try and see.

You will likely need a different library and code to actually make it function though.
