I’d like to mount a circuit board for one of my projects in a project box but the circuit board does not have any holes for standoffs. What are my options? I want to do this nice and clean.
Double sided tape is easiest.
i considered double sided tape, or Velcro but I want this to be a permanent solution. the board has Ethernet and power cables that will be unplugged and plugged back in often.
Plugging and unplugging to a board held in place with with tape will eventually cause it to wiggle free.
Get a box which has slots in the side walls, so it kind of hangs in the air. Other than that, a large amount of hotsnot glue inside on a wall and press the board into it. Once it dries up and if it still comes loose fixate it with permanent glue. Keywords are large contact surface area.
Better suggestions may be made once we know what the board and box looks like. (hint)
There are airplanes with flight control surfaces glued together with double sided tape. Choose the right one and you’ll be fine.
