Making reliable but temporary connections to holes in a PCB

I have a circuit board with holes in it, of the sort you could solder headers or wires into, but I don’t want to solder anything onto it yet. However, for testing purposes, I would like to make some connections to this board. I want something that makes a solid connection (better than just holding a wire or probe in place), but is still removable. Alligator clips almost fit the bill, but they’re a bit fiddly, and there’s too much risk of them touching neighboring holes.

Does anyone know of something better than alligator clips for this application? Thanks.

What holds them in place? I’d been imagining something more “clippy.”
