Constant, random loss of Wifi connection to both versions of the XRP board running in WPIlib mode

Last year I purchased the original “Beta” version of the XRP robot as a kit (without 3d printed parts). I set it up and got code running quite quickly. Since I’m an FRC mentor, I converted to WPILIB mode via the firmware install. After converting to WPIlib I had random loss of communications. My driver’s station is running W11 with current patches (for the time). I figured it was due to the board being a “Beta” version and no one else had posted any issues with the Wifi implementation or WPIlib driverstation. When the new Version 1 board came out I immediately purchased one. But I’m having the same issues. The only Wifi available in WPIlib mode is the 2.4g band. Since 2.4 is SO susceptible to interference I would have thought the 5g even the new 6g would have been an option to choose from. Anyone else having issues with dropped Wifi connections in WPIlib mode? The web site wants me to select a TAG for this post, but none of the available TAGS fit my topic.

Hi there, sorry to hear you’re having trouble!

You’ll get the best help for this by posting to https://xrp.discourse.group/, there are a lot more folks there familiar with using WPILib on the XRP.

Alternatively, if you believe there is a bug with the WPILib firmware, you can open an issue in the GitHub repository: GitHub - wpilibsuite/xrp-wpilib-firmware
