Brand New XRP beta board bots connect, older beta boards do not

I have tried to connect my older XRP beta boards and their are not detected by the website xrpcode.wpi.edu. I plug in a “new” beta board out of the box and it connects and updates just fine. What could be the issue? I’m using the same computer, same cables, the only thing different it that one board has been used by students and the other is new out of the box. There is no physical damage to the older board. it does show up as the PICODISK and RPI-RP2 drive when bootsel mode is implemented.

I think whatever code that was uploaded got the units stuck in a loop or similar; since it is appearing as a drive you can re-flash the micropython firmware by following the steps here MicroPython - Python for microcontrollers

Also make sure you don’t have multiple tabs with the editor open and the like (I did this once)

There are no other windows open. I was able to connect via bluetooth but not usb?

Odd - I got the recommended steps from here Frequently Asked Questions — XRP 2023.0 documentation

It might help to post a similar thread in the xrp-focused forum here https://xrp.discourse.group/

any live chat option with you?

No :frowning:

Did re-flashing via uf2 work?

no, now the board that was connecting and working is no longer connecting. This is getting really frustrating. A board right out of the box (a beta board) connects and works just fine. I must be doing something to mess it up.

Swap cables/ports; restart the PC; don’t use BOOT mode when plugging in and see if any of that helps
