Copy component from one Eagle lib to another

I’m trying to clean up my Eagle libraries and I need to copy selected components to a new

combined library.

I know I can use scissor/stoplight and paste to do it in several steps from the library editor…

And I know I can use the Control Panel window and drag a component from the tree view

to the library window but that seems to only copy the package not the symbol.

There must be an easy way to copy the entire device (symbol and package) to a new lib. Is there a

trick to the drag/drop that makes it copy the entire device?

sure you are not dragging a package and not a device?

if I open a library, right click a device in the control panel and choose copy to library the device symbyl

and all packages for it get copied to the lib that i open

Well that works great, thanks.

What I was trying to do that was not working is drag from the Control Panel to a

window that already had a Device showing in the three panes. I was not dragging to

the single blank window that you get when you first open a library.

How do you get back to the single empty view once you have looked

at a device or dropped one in so I can drop another?
