Hey Guys, I’m a student working at a consulting firm. I was wondering if you guys can help me come with a solution to a problem I’m having.
We are trying to install a cordless phone that will connect to the telephone network that already exists in the facility. This cordless phone is going to be one of those Nortel phones that would pretty much function the same way as all the other corded phones do (ie show extension #s in caller ID etc), except, of course, that it is cordless.
The effective operating range of the cordless phone that I’m thinking of is 95m. The base station will be used for 4 telephone lines, which is why we would have to install this in the telecom room, which unfortunately has a very unsupportive physical location.
Now, what I was thinking is to use coax cables to make extensions to the antenna of the base station, and place them at useful positions.
I need more ideas… and I figured that this would be the right place for me to get them.
Thanks in advance for any responses!
Mohit
P.S: The phone I’m thinking of is Nortel T7406
