To downsize the device a little, I cut the edge of the board for just 2-3 millimeters. I have done the cutting for 3 of them, two of them did not work and lost serial communication, while only one of them still worked. I am wondering why this happens.
Also, my former colleague did the same cut (probably in 2022), but all of the sensors worked pretty well. I am quite confused about what is happening here.
From the guide: “If VIN is your only option then we recommend cutting the MEAS jumper to isolate VIN from USB 5V and the LiPo.”
The top one still has the MEAS trace intact, bottom two it is cut…you isolated VIN from the USB circuit…you might be able to re-bridge those traces/pth pad holes
TS-Russel figured it out. All the power for the board goes through the two pads labeled MEAS and you cut the trace between those two pads. Reconnect them and you will probably be OK.
