D2523T initalisation

hey,

i have purchased a D2523T for a 3rd year university project.

i have it powered up and is sending data (monitored by the oscilloscope on the Tx pin).

firstly, i was wondering what the module sends in the default mode?

secondly, wondering on how to connect the module to u-center, and if it is neccassary. Do you use a max323 chip to convert 3.3V-to-RS232. and then just plug that into the serial port of the computer? and U-center recognise the deivce, allowing you to configure it?

any help would be great.

If you have a serial port on your computer than this would work: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/133

If not, you should (I have not tested it) be able to go straight from 3.3V TTL to USB with this: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9873
