Danger Shield V16

Hello,

In the past I have build a danger shield.

All is working well with one exeption.

The temperature reading are not good.

I have checked the components agains the schematic.

In the schematic (V16) I found for the temperature a LM335, and I have installed (whas in the box) a TMP36.

These are different divices.

What should I do, desolder the TMP36 and install a LM335?

Thanks for any help.

First carefully read the data sheets for each of these temperature sensors.

What are the differences?

1- input voltage

2- connections

3- output voltage as a function of temperature

If the first two item are the same and the third is different then adjust the constants in the code to get the correct temperature.

If items 1 & 2 are different then it may be best to use the an LM335 instead.

The LM335 is basically a 2 terminal device, the TMP36 a 3 terminal device. If you want to use a TMP36 you will have to :
  • remove the 10k resistor (R21) that brings Vcc to pin2

  • add a jumper wire from Vcc to pin1 to power the TMP36

Thanks all for this response, still strange that the TMP36 whas deliverd with the package!

I will inform the suplier.
