Eagle Schematic Titles and Nets Questions (new user)

(First post. Thank you Sparkfun for providing these forums.)

New Eagle user here. Actually I’ve never used any PCB software before…

In the last week I’ve drawn a few very simple boards to get a feel for how Eagle works. Other than some things being less than intuitive and some foul-ups related to my ignorance of how Eagle works I think I’m getting along well.

Two items elude me.

  1. How to get the title and revision/date etc into the lower right corner of my schematic?

  2. Nets. Argh. In the first two boards I’ve designed they were very very simple and I just drew the connections to V+ and ground.

After looking at a few more complex schematics that were drawn in Eagle I’ve noticed a lot of separated bits of the circuits drawn with nothing more than a single part, like a cap, with a ground symbol and V+ symbol. When I tried this in a drawing none of the V+ or GND points on the schematic were connected in the board layout.

I’m sure I am missing something silly simple. Guidance appreciated. Links to relevant reading most welcome.

I have other silly questions. Thankfully they are not show stoppers like my ‘nets’ question.
