EagleSoC Development Kit and EZPSoC Library

Hello everyone. We have been using Arduino and Cypress PSoC 5 Development kits for many embedded system projects. At the beginning it was easy to start the projects using the Arduino boards and then we were introduced to the PSoC 5 microcontrollers. The nice thing about PSoC is that it uses PSoC Creator IDE with drag-and-drop component catalogue and its own debugger. It was initially time-consuming to implement code for a variety of sensors, since unlike Arduino, PSoC does not have an extensive user-generated sensor library. Since then we’ve been working on EZ-PSoC 5 library, which uses a layered structure, and allows users to easily incorporate sensor components in their PSoC projects. Users can focus on their system specs instead of spending additional time on writing sensor interface code. At the same time, we have migrated our projects from Arduino to the Cypress Development Boards, and still faced some restrictions. The original PSoC 5LP board was too big for most of our projects, while the CY8CKIT-059 is perfect in size, is not a fully-functional board. We tried to find a compromise and designed our own version – the EagleSoC Development board, a fully-functional board with reduced size from the original Cypress board. For affordability purposes, we also designed an EagleSoC Mini-board, which preserves most of the functionality of the original EagleSoC Development board. Another problem that we encountered while working on embedded system projects was the price of the Cypress Program and Debug Kit – MiniProg3. We created an EagleSoC Programmer, which is a low-cost solution for programming and debugging PSoC 5LP boards.
