hello there,

i recently received my EM406

  • dev board

i have used usb to provide power from my PC , and i connected the gps to my hyper terminal in order to have an idea about the data it sends…

i get what seems to be nmea format, but messages give utc time only… the gps doesn’t seem to get a lock…the led is red (not blinking as it should)

i 've tried taking it outside, many times, which led to think that may be there some sort of initialization that i should do,

my question is : how to handle the dev board, what are the two serials for,

and what is the best way to send nmea statements to the gps,

How long are you letting it sit outside to get that initial fix?

If the module has zero almanac data, it might very well take 45 minutes (regardless of what the datasheets say).
