em406a no response

hi all,

i recently purchased an em406a gps to interface with my arduino duemilanove and it has been working fine until 20 minutes ago.

for no reason i can find the unit will no longer turn on, the LED does not turn on.

i have checked the power to it and it seems fine and there is no visible damage i can see.

its pretty crap timing as i was using it in a geocache puzzle box (http://arduiniana.org/projects/the-reve … he-puzzle/) for a present for my mother in two days and it decided to crap out now when i was making the final touches.

does anybody have any ideas?

Are you sure the LED is off?

( i thought mine was off and it turns out it was REALLY dim), look at it in a dark room.

did this happen after you tried to send it a command?

as far as i could tell it was off but i wont be able to check now as i salvaged the connector wires for another project so will have to wait till a later time to re investigate
