ESP32 Updates

Hi,

I am trying to more fully understand the ESP32 modules in the version 1.0 and 2.0 of my Thing boards. Am I correct in that these modules have hardware capabilities that are not fully available such as a Hall Effect sensor or three serial ports. Are there efforts underway to make these capabilities available through firmware updates?
